Course Introduction Wound care represents one of the most critical competencies for nurses working in nursing home environments, where residents face elevated risks for pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, and other chronic wounds. Texas nurses are required to complete 20 contact hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) in their current area of practice as part of their biennial license renewal requirements. This course addresses the specific wound care challenges encountered in long-term care settings while providing evidence-based interventions that improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
