This self-paced continuing education course equips nurses with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to perform safe, accurate, and patient centered phlebotomy. Designed for nurses in all practice settings including acute care, outpatient clinics, home health, and long-term care this program blends theory with practical application to build confidence and competence in blood collection procedures. Topics include venous anatomy, patient identification, infection control, aseptic technique, vein selection, equipment use, tube selection and order of draw, specimen handling, and prevention and management of complications. Special considerations for pediatric, geriatric, and difficult draws are addressed. Participants will also learn strategies to reduce preanalytical errors and maintain compliance with CDC, OSHA, and Florida Board of Nursing standards.
