Healthcare professionals are responsible for monitoring the performance of all personnel, licensed or not, under their control regarding infection control techniques. Failure to adhere to these principles is considered unprofessional conduct and could subject the healthcare professional to disciplinary action, revocation of license, and/or professional liability.
