Course overview

Diagnostic ability is essential for successfully applying any treatment approach. This class aims to provide a strong foundation or review for providers who treat or wish to treat spinal conditions with ESWT. The instruction is designed to review pertinent evaluation and examination criteria. Specifically, anatomy review, muscle and neurological testing, orthopedic testing, and more will be covered. Supportive and rehabilitative approaches will also be discussed, demonstrated, and practiced during the 12-hour class. There is also a research review for each spinal region to open the discussion of appropriate treatment approaches, both with ESWT and through other means. The head and face area is also discussed to ensure providers are both comfortable and competent in working in this area. ESWT is not meant to replace a chiropractor's skills, but rather to enhance what they are already doing. As such, strong diagnostic skills are essential. The class should significantly upgrade attendees' abilities to assess the spine and better diagnose neuromusculoskeletal conditions. There is ample time provided for hands-on practice to help ensure successful integration of knowledge into the provider's practice from day one.
