Course overview

Do you work on the sidelines with athletes? Or with older adults in home health? Or maybe you work in a primary direct-access clinic? Regardless of where you work or who you work with, identifying the need for chest imaging can be a critical tool in your skill set. As PTs gain ordering rights for imaging, we need to be aware of the indications for chest imaging, which can be different than the typical musculoskeletal considerations. This course will discuss various pathologies across several different body systems, settings, and patient populations that may require imaging as part of the differential diagnosis process. This course will discuss the considerations for ordering chest imaging and how to identify common conditions often seen on chest radiographs. We will look at clinical prediction tools, discuss resources to enhance your knowledge, and practice ordering imaging using case studies. Attendees should complete the course having an understanding of when and how to use chest radiography as part of their practice, regardless of where they practice or who with.
