This course is designed for school-based therapists and covers the fine motor and visual motor skills that affect students' ability to access the total school environment. Strategies, treatment interventions, and tools will be presented to improve students' function in academic-related tasks. The course also covers foundational skills needed to develop fine motor skills, grasp development, and visual motor integration skills, as well as specific interventions for handwriting, scissor skills, and sensory needs. This course will cover: Identifying the fine motor and visual skills that affect students' ability to access curriculum Describing treatment strategies to improve fine motor and visual motor/visual perception function of students, including handwriting intervention Building a "toolbox" of strategies and items to aid in therapy intervention
