Course overview

Participants will be able to apply the six-step process for DSM-5-based client assessment and diagnosis, will be able to distinguish between provisional diagnoses and adjustment disorders, and accurately document each for insurance and clinical use, will e able to utilize at least three validated screening tools (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, ASRS) to inform diagnosis and treatment planning, will be able to explain the diagnosis process to clients using supportive, non-stigmatizing language, and will be able to update or revise a diagnosis based on symptom changes and comorbidity.
