Essentials of Oncology Massage: Skilled Touch for the Spa

Course overview

Massage therapy for individuals with cancer used to be contraindicated. Nowadays with the right training and experience, massage therapists can safely use skilled touch to help manage emotional and physical symptoms brought on by the disease. This class will help LMTs who work in a spa setting know what to ask and what to do when a client living with cancer comes to their place of business (with or without alerting the spa ahead of time that they have cancer). This class includes lecture, activities, special intake and documentation for spas, demonstrations and hands-on practice.
