Course overview

This course explores the intersection of trauma and bodywork, offering massage therapists a trauma-informed framework to safely and compassionately support clients who may be living with the effects of emotional, physical, or psychological trauma. Therapists will learn how trauma is held in the body, how to recognize trauma responses, and how to adjust their practice to be safe, client-centered, and healing. Students will participate in lecture, discussion, and hands-on practice. Case studies and role-play will help therapists build skills for real-world application. This is a must for anyone who works with vulnerable populations or seeks to offer compassionate, safe care.
