Course overview

Description of CE hours and outline Thai massage is an ancient healing manual technique that uses assisted stretching, assisted yoga positions, compression, rocking and pulling to improve mobility, posture, circulation, lymphatic flow and overall relaxation. Fascial Method techniques are inspired by the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf and is dry (No lotion) and is used to release fascial network and adhesions. This course is a combination of these two massage therapy modalities. Techniques: In Thai Sports stretching fascia method we use the hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to apply pressure and perform stretches and manual fascial techniques to increase performance and prevent injuries for athletes. However, this type of massage therapy can be utilized with most clients. We utilize assisted Thai stretches passively and/or with resistance therapy to achieve deeper fascia and muscle release. In addition, we utilize fascial bodywork with hands, forearms, elbows to release taut fascia and adhesions in combination with Thai stretching or separately in the same session. Benefits: Thai sports stretch with hands on pressure can help with back and neck pain, headaches, stress, anxiety, digestion, and much more. It can also improve muscle and nerve function through releasing tight muscles and fascia. Thai massage is also known as Thai Yoga massage. It's based on the idea that the body has 10 main energy lines, called sen lines, and that the massage focuses on opening and releasing energy through these lines. Fascial techniques improves posture, structural alignment, pain relief and mobility. This course will focus on 4 body positions for the client; supine, prone, seated and side with fascia and Thai sports stretch bodywork techniques for each. Table and alternatively futon will be used in this class. This is an in-person Continuing Education Course. The course outline is as follows:
