Course overview
This course provides healthcare and social service professionals, including medical assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, with essential knowledge and practical tools to recognize, assess, and respond to elder abuse in various healthcare settings. Participants will learn to identify various types of abuse, understand associated risk factors, and navigate legal reporting requirements. The course also reviews the importance of interdisciplinary teamwork in addressing mistreatment, preventing revictimization, and supporting the unique needs of culturally diverse older adult populations.
