Struggling to assess feeding challenges in children? This recorded, independent, 2-hour, intermediate-level course provides professionals with practical tools to evaluate ARFID and psychosocial components of pediatric feeding disorders. Learn to use screening tools, apply effective interviewing strategies, and build the foundation for treatment planning and case conceptualization. You'll walk away with clear, actionable steps to support children's mealtime success and further understand ARFID. At the end of this course, you will be able to (1) identify psychosocial considerations that contribute to pediatric feeding disorders, including ARFID, (2) administer and interpret at least one screening tool for assessing feeding challenges, (3) apply effective clinical interviewing techniques to gather relevant medical, developmental, and psychosocial history, and (4) develop an initial framework for treatment planning and case conceptualization in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. This distance-learning, interactive format is offered at 0.2CEUs, Intermediate Level, OT Service Delivery, Foundational Knowledge, and targeted to intermediate- to advanced-level occupational therapists, COTAs, SLPs, and other pediatric feeding specialists. The course instructor, Allissa Younan, MS, OTR/L, has been a pediatric occupational therapist since 2016. She founded Holistic Abilities LLC in 2020, pioneering home-based care models for children with diverse needs. She has specialized training in sensory integration, trauma-sensitive care, and pediatric feeding disorders.
