Course overview

This presentation will define professional boundaries in the workplace, specifically targeting those staff who work with clients in a community corrections setting. Clients are especially vulnerable in a residential setting; being incarcerated causes most to feel emotionally and otherwise deprived. We will discuss the root of those vulnerabilities as well as staff issues that could play a factor in boundary violations. We will discuss specific ways for staff to create and maintain healthy boundaries and how to re-direct boundary violation and inappropriate behaviors from clients.
