Self-paced Online Home Study Massage & Bodywork Demos for Aging Clients

Course overview

This 3 CE hour training is hands-on instructor demonstrations and applications for a variety of aging clients. It does not include science or theoretical information that must be learned to prior work on aging clients. This training is NOT appropriate for students who do not already have a comprehensive understanding of the aging process and the many different complications, precautions, accommodations or contraindications for geriatric massage or bodywork. This training is appropriate for students who have already completed advanced comprehensive training for working with aging clients, and already know all the different accommodations, precautions and contraindications that should be applied to this hands-on massage and bodywork. This training is also an appropriate class for our past students who have already completed our comprehensive advanced geriatric training, but want to see the hands-on instructor demonstrations again. This course provides 6 different hands-on instructor demonstrations of working with aging/geriatric clients including: A full body clothed massage in a wheelchair (not for clients who have paralysis) Sweet Session which can be provided to the most "compromised" clients such as those who are contraindicated for "regular" massage or bodywork. A Sweet Session includes gentle massage, joint rotation, energy work plus muscle and bone tracing. Abdominal massage for constipation (can be used with essential oil when properly trained in aromatherapy practice) Supinated moisturizing massage with joint mobilization Pronated moisturizing back massage Vigorous hand & arm massage in a relaxing chair
