Managing Hypertension in Pregnancy

Course overview

This course provides acute care nurses with essential knowledge and skills for identifying and managing hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP), including chronic hypertension, gestational hypertension, and preeclampsia with and without severe features. Learners will review diagnostic criteria, complications (such as hypertensive emergencies, HELLP syndrome, and eclampsia), nursing assessments, treatment protocols, and postpartum monitoring strategies to reduce maternal and neonatal risk.
