Course overview

This online 3-hour course provides licensed Michigan plumbers with a comprehensive update on the 2021 Michigan Plumbing Code, effective March 12 2024. The program is designed to meet the Bureau of Construction Codes continuing education requirement for journeyman and master plumbers within 12 months of each code adoption. The course is divided into three one-hour segments. Hour 1 covers scope, administration, permits, enforcement, and significant Michigan-specific amendments to fixtures, sanitation, and sewer standards. Hour 2 focuses on water supply, cross-connection control, bundled pipe identification, tempered water delivery, and fixture trap requirements, with practical field examples for inspection compliance. Hour 3 highlights changes in general regulations, fixture standards, water heaters, venting systems, traps, and interceptors, and concludes with a compliance and renewal checklist.
