Course overview

This training will guide participants through LGBTQ+ terms and social concepts, and help dissect norms and biases, to assist participants in analyzing their own professional mindset and space in a manner which drives and encourages inclusion and affirmation of the LGBTQ+ community. Key takeaways: After this session, participants will 1) Develop a general understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and terminology 2) Identify the differences between sex, gender, gender identity and expression 3) Develop an understanding of the the relationship between stereotypes, bias, and discrimination 4) Identify social/health disparities within the LGBTQ+ community and 5) Develop knowledge regarding best practices in creating an inclusive space.
