Connective Tissue Massage (CTM) 1 will teach a practitioner how to think about, effectively palpate, assess, and manipulate fascia at the superficial layer. This will be accomplished all over the body in way that provides each participant with a modifiable full-body protocol, enabling those who complete the course to address a wide ranging variety of tension patterns at the basic level. The class will provide instruction in basic fascial anatomy. This includes general characteristics of fascia, principles of manipulation, and a theory of layers. In learning to contact and manipulate the appropriate layer, students will learn palpation exercises, body mechanics, and a series of relevant techniques. There will also be education in body observation, and the integration of this style of work with other modalities.
