Course overview

Synopsis: Abuse and neglect are harsh realities that affect the lives of many people with developmental disabilities. Statistics suggest that people with developmental disabilities are up to ten times more likely to be victims of abuse or neglect than are people without developmental disabilities. It is important that, as a worker in this field, you know how to prevent abuse, recognize the signs, report any suspicions and assist the victim of abuse and neglect. Abuse and neglect are never acceptable.
