At the completion of this activity, healthcare providers will be able to:
- Define trauma and describe the physiological and psychological effects of trauma on individuals.
- Identify the core principles of trauma informed care and how they apply to pelvic exams.

Course overview
This course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to deliver trauma-informed pelvic care. Learners will explore how trauma impacts the body, how to identify trauma responses, and strategies for fostering a safe, supportive clinical environment. Designed for nurses, physicians, and other clinicians who perform pelvic exams, the course provides practical tools to enhance sensitivity, build patient trust, and improve comfort and health outcomes during examinations.
