Understanding the functional foot and ankle can help give a rehabilitation program a good "leg to stand on"! Seriously, we all know that rehabilitation stability starts from the ground up. Whether our patients' goals are to return to competitive sports or to meet occupational and leisure goals, it is essential to understand the role that the foot and ankle play. In this course, Dr. Dimaio will cover: -Recognition and awareness of pertinent anatomy, kinesiology, and common pathologies -Understanding the functional impact of foot/ankle complex pathology -Understanding of the gait cycle as it relates to the foot/ankle associated movement and force requirements -Specific techniques for taping the foot and ankle -Understanding the role of orthotics and footwear and their appropriate use -Treatment progressions for the foot and ankle to allow patients to meet their desired goals
