This 1.5-hour refresher equips EMS providers to update and validate competency in OSHA bloodborne pathogen controls and respiratory (droplet/airborne) precautions used in field care, transport, and decon. Learners review agency Exposure Control Plan essentials, task-based risk mapping, engineering/work-practice/PPE controls, sharps safety and regulated waste, and stepwise post-exposure management (including documentation timelines and PEP considerations). The course also sharpens decision-making for TB/measles/varicella, influenza/COVID, and other high-consequence pathogens emphasizing source control, respirator use per RPP, ventilation, and clean doffing to ensure protocol-aligned, defensible practice
