Hazardous Communications

Course overview

This 2 hour course introduces EMS providers to nationally recognized standards for safe handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals. Learners will review OSHAs Hazard Communication Standard, the use of Safety Data Sheets, chemical labeling requirements, and the identification of physical and health hazards in both workplace and emergency response settings. Emphasis is placed on integrating safe work practices, proper PPE use, and hazard awareness into EMS operations to reduce risk and ensure compliance with federal safety regulations.
