Professionalism and Effective Communication

Course overview

This 1.5 hour course equips EMS providers with practical tools to communicate clearly and professionally in the field and workplace. Learners review the communication process, select the right medium for in person, electronic, written, and phone or radio messages, and apply strategies to overcome common barriers. The course strengthens empathy, active listening, tone, and phone and radio etiquette, and reinforces professional behaviors that support teamwork, patient safety, accurate information exchange, and effective interagency coordination.
