This 30 minute course equips EMS providers to interact appropriately with patients who use service animals under the ADA. Learners define what qualifies as a service animal, distinguish service animals from emotional support animals, and review patient and public access rights. The course covers EMS responsibilities on scene and during transport, when separation is permitted, and safety and handling considerations to protect the patient, crew, and animal while maintaining lawful, respectful care.
