Course overview

This 3 hour course refreshes ALS providers on 12 lead EKG acquisition and interpretation. Learners review correct lead placement including posterior and right sided views; recognition of ischemia, injury, and infarct patterns; localization by coronary anatomy; and STEMI categorization and activation criteria. The course covers common mimics and imitators such as LVH, benign early repolarization, pericarditis, bundle branch block, paced rhythms, hypothermia, hyperkalemia, and digoxin effect, with emphasis on rapid triage, concise communication, and destination decisions.
