Capnography

Course overview

This 1 hour course equips ALS providers to use capnography for real time assessment and decision making. Learners review ventilation vs oxygenation physiology, normal ETCO2 ranges, and waveform segments (upstroke, plateau, inspiratory downstroke). The course applies capnography to airway confirmation, ventilation titration, CPR and ROSC tracking, shock and perfusion assessment, sedation monitoring, and asthma or COPD management, with attention to mainstream vs sidestream devices, troubleshooting artifacts, and safe device handling.
