Course overview

Join us on October 21, 2025 at 6:00 PM, as we host this presentation by Michael F. Amendola, MD, MEHP. Aortic aneurysms are a major vascular challenge, with abdominal (AAA) and thoracic (TAA) forms carrying high risk for rupture and mortality. In this presentation, Dr. Amendola will review their types, pathophysiology, and clinical presentation, and emphasize risk factors, natural history and the importance of early recognition. Open surgical repair remains a durable option for both AAA and TAA, and Dr. Amendola will discuss key aspects of exposure, anatomic considerations, perioperative risks, and the continued role of open surgery in selected patients. Endovascular repair has rapidly expanded treatment options, and Dr. Amendola will discuss the principles of EVAR and TEVAR, focusing on patient selection, device planning, and procedural execution. He will discuss common complications, medico-legal considerations, and breaches in standard of care that can expose providers to litigation. Register now for the enlightening presentation! Attendees of this webinar will: 1. Describe the types, presentation, and pathophysiology of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) and thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAA); 2. Examine the indications for open approach to repair of AAA and TAA; 3. Examine the indications for endovascular approach to repair of AAA and TAA; and 4.
