Course overview

Returning home after knee arthroplasty can be challenging and filled with uncertainty for patients. Home-based rehabilitation providers help patients rehabilitate safely in their homes in the early days post-surgery providing them with the knowledge to master transfers and mobility before progressing to more complex functional tasks. Rehabilitation providers must be able to deliver education on home safety fall prevention mobility assistive device use pain and oedema management and exercise progression to ensure patients have the confidence to get moving again. This course introduces early rehabilitation interventions for patients during their first two weeks at home after knee arthroplasty. This course aims to introduce mobility techniques exercise training and fundamental education topics for patients during the first two weeks of home-based rehabilitation after post-knee arthroplasty.
