Course overview

Our motor system has input in all movements from balance and posture to walking breathing swallowing and communication. Knowledge of motor system neuroscience is integral to creating effective rehabilitation care plans. This course explores the neuroanatomy and neuroscience of the motor system from the motor cortex to the neuromuscular junction. It details motor cranial nerve control sensory-motor integration movement control strategies and motor assessment providing skills immediately applicable to clinical practice. This course aims to provide an overview of the role of the motor system in rehabilitation and discuss bedside clinical assessments and movement control strategies.
