Course Description: This course provides an in-depth exploration of common heart conditions, their underlying causes, clinical presentation, diagnostic methods, and available prophylactic treatments. The course is designed for healthcare professionals interested in understanding cardiovascular diseases from both a clinical and preventative perspective. Emphasis will be placed on identifying risk factors, preventing progression of heart diseases, and implementing evidence-based prophylactic treatments. Students will learn about medications, lifestyle interventions, and emerging therapies aimed at preventing heart conditions in at-risk populations. Course Objectives: 1.Identify common heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart diseases.  2. Be able to recognize risk factors and causes.  3. Understand the protocols for administering antibiotic prophylaxis recommended for dental procedures.  4. Learn what these conditions are, who is susceptible and how they are treated and diagnosed. 5.   Discuss what these conditions are, who is susceptible and how they are diagnosed. 6.   Identify signs and symptoms of these conditions and how they are treated.
