This course will review common orthopedic emergencies and best practices for management and referral. The presentation will be targeted to a general practitioner and emergency audience and will include a discussion of what constitutes an orthopedic emergency, recommendations for stabilizing common fractures, the timeline and urgency recommended for surgical referral, and when to elect conservative vs. surgical management, drawing guidance from the most recent literature.
