Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Infections (MRSA) - Diagnosis and Treatment
Tracking # 20-1335903
Course overview
The growing problem of antibiotic resistance has led to the evolution of antimicrobial-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains, with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) posing a significant public health threat. MRSA is resistant to numerous drugs and is the most common cause of healthcare-associated infections, capable of causing bacteremia and sepsis. While screening procedures are used to reduce MRSA incidence, there isn't a single recommended screening method for clinicians. Current treatment guidelines for MRSA infections, including guidance on infection recognition, treatment, and follow-up, can be found in The Infectious Diseases Society of America Guidelines.
