Surgical Extractions in Canines and Felines

Course overview

This 9 hour course will be 2.5 hours of interactive lecture and 6.5 hours of hands-on laboratory. The lecture will cover the indications for surgical extractions in both cats and dogs and the appropriate surgical techniques for exodontia. Each participant will be working at their own stations with their specimens, equipment and instrumentations at specially designed dental training tables. Specific teeth in both Canines and Felines will be assigned to practice surgical exodontia. This will involve making the appropriate muco-gingival flaps, bone reduction and teeth elevation techniques. Utilizing videography, the procedures for each tooth will be illustrated throughout the laboratory portion.
