Course overview

This educational program is designed to accomplish at least two important goals: first to provide examples of critical potential medication errors, and secondly to offer mechanisms that pharmacy professionals can take to intervene in these mishaps and enhance patient care. In addition to offering these critical examples and potential solutions, two case studies are included to help put some of the ideas into realistic scenarios similar to those that may be encountered in contemporary pharmacy practice. Evidence-based practice information from current peer-reviewed literature is also included for context and ideas for pharmacists to consider in efforts to improve their practice appear throughout the program. Lastly, a post-test is included at the end of the program to test your understanding of the material.
