At the completion of this activity, participants are expected to: 1. Understand and define medical errors along with their various types, including diagnostic and medication errors, 2. Examine error prevention tools and strategies to mitigate risk and enhance patient safety, 3. Understand the methods used to investigate the root causes of medical errors (including RootCause Analysis) and what qualifies as an adverse incident and how to properly report it.
