Understanding the Impact of Substance Use on Functioning

Course overview

This session will walk through signs and symptoms of substance use disorder to increase awareness of when someone may be struggling and need assistance. We will also discuss the stages of recovery, with a focus on the early recovery (the first 12 months of sobriety) and some of the common challenges faced as well as the opportunities for support as they work on their vocational and educational goals.
