Course overview

This 2-day introductory course provides physical therapists and other healthcare professionals with foundational knowledge and practical experience in neurodiagnostic testing, including nerve conduction studies (NCS), electromyography (EMG), and neuromusculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS). Participants will gain a working understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and clinical applications of neurodiagnostic techniques. The course emphasizes hands-on labs, case-based discussions, and most importantly, how to apply diagnostic test results directly to patient treatment planning and management. The training also highlights how electrodiagnostics strengthens the role of healthcare professionals who aspire to function as primary care providers, equipping them to make evidence-based decisions, direct referrals appropriately, and lead comprehensive care for their patients.
