This 2-contact hour education program focuses on the impact and influence of the digital age and how the various ages and generations are embracing it. Topic 1 is Cybersecurity for Nurses-Protecting Patients, Data, and Digital Presence by Jonathan Gecomo; and Topic 2 is Artificial Intelligence for Nurses by Mary Mitchell. OBJECTIVES for Cybersecurity are (a) Identify common cybersecurity threats in healthcare and social media that may compromise patient safety, confidentiality, or professional reputation. (b) Demonstrate safe digital practices in nursing workflows and everyday online life, including secure use of EHRs, email, mobile devices, and social media. (c) Apply organizational policies, HIPAA/HITECH regulations, and professional ethical standards to safeguard patient information and maintain professional boundaries online. OBJECTIVES for Artificial Intelligence for Nurses are (a) Analyze generational differences in the adoption of AI in nursing, with a focus on understanding technostress and its impact on different age groups. (b) Define artificial intelligence (AI) and explain its relevance to nursing, including its potential to improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency. (c) Demonstrate real-world examples of AI applications in nursing and day-to-day tasks, including email management, workflow optimization, and research. (d)Evaluate ethical considerations and apply the DRIVE framework to ensure responsible and effective integration of AI into nursing practice, including strategies to avoid misinformation and misuse of AI in healthcare.
