Course overview
Nurses need education on up-to-date and accurate information regarding post-op nursing standards of care in order to give the best care to their post-op patients. This program covers postoperative nursing care, with topics including possible adverse events that can occur in the immediate postoperative period, potential side effects of medications used for general anesthesia, skills and competencies that should be clearly understood by the post-op nurse, and the steps in a thorough assessment of the postoperative ABCs. There is also a discussion about how implicit bias may impact healthcare.
