Course overview
Nurses who are knowledgeable about new technology surrounding glucose monitors are better able to educate and assist their diabetic patients with glucose monitors and continuous glucose monitors. This course discusses continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Topics include the role of CGM in improving diabetes management, similarities and differences between various integrated continuous glucose monitoring (iCGM) devices, available resources to assist individuals with selecting and accessing CGM devices, and how to explain to patients how to use CGM devices. There is also a discussion about how implicit bias may impact healthcare.
