Course overview
This program covers ethical issues and equitable patient care for occupational therapists. Topics include professional guidelines and ethical standards for occupational therapy and the membership organizations that provide oversight for the field; ethical standards and their application in support of occupational therapy services; how health inequities present in the occupational therapy profession; and steps to address health inequities to achieve an equal and just society. Additional topics include occupational therapy impact and cross-cultural interaction; World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT); American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA); the AOTA Code of Ethics; occupational therapy approach, as well as ethical standards, addressing inequities, and professional standards.
