FNP-BC: Musculoskeletal Conditions for the Family Nurse Practitioner

Course overview

Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) in virtually every clinical setting will encounter musculoskeletal conditions in patients of all ages. Older adults often suffer from musculoskeletal degeneration, which limits mobility and activities of daily living (ADL). In younger patients, musculoskeletal conditions account for more lost productivity than other major health conditions. In children, musculoskeletal injury is the most common cause of emergency department visits. Recognizing the presenting symptoms, accurately diagnosing, and effectively managing musculoskeletal disorders and injuries can facilitate rehabilitation and possible return to a mobile, pain-free state following diagnosis.
