Course overview
Use of external thermal agents, incorporating hot stone into traditional Swedish Massage. We will learn about the history of thermal applications, appropriate temperature applications and incorporate hot stones into a 60 minute massage routine. Additionally, we will turn up the heat so to speak on turnaround time and collaborations with fellow massage therapists by implementing traditional Swedish massage applications in multiple 30 minute couples routines. This course aims to improve your performance skills while also capitalizing on learning by receiving delivering multiple short sessions. This includes the use of appliances, retrieving heated tools and applying thermodynamics, (such as hot stones and steam towels) to themselves and to other students through the duration of this course. Participants should be aware the heat used in this course is not intended to, but does have the potential to cause burns. By participating in this course, you assume some risk and agree to use an abundance of caution. The teacher is not responsible for student misuse of thermal application. All students will be required to sign a release of liability. Students cannot participate if they have a sensory deprivation that inhibits the sense of touch.
