Wildlife Triage for Small Animal Practitioners

Course overview

Wildlife medicine is a growing field. Thousands of injured wildlife are being brought to clinics for medical attention each year. While most treatment needs to be carried out at specific clinics that are properly permitted to rehabilitate wildlife, small animal veterinarians are legally allowed to provide emergency care to stabilize wildlife patients prior to transfer or even euthanize critically ill animals. The purpose of this course is to educate small animal veterinarians and veterinary technicians on the rules and regulations surrounding treating wildlife and provide them with basic triage protocols that they can use to stabilize injured wildlife that presents in their clinic.
