Course overview

Specialty contact lenses are utilized for patients with corneal diseases such as keratoconus, corneal dystrophies and post corneal surgery. Fitting specialty contact lenses for children and athletes poses additional challenges associated with contact lens handling and compliance. We will discuss the benefits and challenges involved with fitting pediatric aphakes, keratoconic children and athletes of all levels, as well as refractive amblyopes and contact lenses for overnight orthokeratology. Attendees will gain a better understanding of communication and education for children and athletes who require specialty contact lenses.
