Course overview

This interactive Continuing Education training equips social workers and behavioral health professionals with critical tools for crisis assessment and suicide prevention. Through a trauma-informed, culturally competent lens, participants will explore real-world case studies, evidence-based assessment tools, and local community resources to improve crisis outcomes. Learning Objectives -Identify key indicators of crisis escalation and suicidal risk across age groups and settings. -Apply evidence-based assessment tools (C-SSRS, SAFE-T) for suicide risk evaluation. -Implement de-escalation and safety planning techniques using trauma-informed, culturally responsive approaches. -Demonstrate appropriate communication, documentation, and coordination during a behavioral crisis. -Integrate local and national resources (Baker Act, 988 Lifeline, community networks) into safety planning.
