Don't Fear the Fentanyl - A Crash Course on Narcan Street Drugs

Course overview

Troy Allen Bain currently works with clients with Substance Abuse Disorders, active addiction, recover, food insecurity, mental health problems and homelessness. Mr. Bain is a Certified Recovery and Life Coach at GraCE Greenbrier Recovery and Community Environment. He is a certified NARCAN train the Trainer and a Nationally Registered Paramedic. Mr Bain's devotion to emergency medicine can be tracked back to the US Army where he served as a Combat Medic. He has worked in the Emergency Medical Services industry for thirty-three years. During his time as a Paramedic he was promoted to Operations Chief and Ultimately the Director of Jackson County EMS. After retirement from EMS, he became the full-time Program Coordinator for the Jackson County Quick Response Team in March of 2025. Objectives of Mr. Bain's presentation include: 1) The participants will be able to recognize at least three signs and symptoms of a drug overdose. 2) The participants will be able to discuss the steps and be able to administer NARCAN. 3) The participants will be able to identify at least three street drugs that may be encountered in the school system.
