Course overview

Overhead sports such as baseball volleyball and handball place high mechanical demands on the shoulder thereby increasing the risk of injury. Overhead athletes develop unique adaptations due to the repetitive nature of their sport. This results in predictable differences in their shoulder strength and range of motion compared to non-overhead athletes. This course highlights normal adaptive changes in overhead athletes before exploring pathological findings specific assessment techniques and targeted treatment strategies.
