Overview Addiction and criminal behavior do not occur in isolation. They arise from complex histories of systemic oppression, intergenerational trauma, and structural inequity that continue to shape communities and individuals today. This advanced training provides professionals with the knowledge and skills to address addiction and criminal justice involvement through a culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and justice-oriented approach to clinical practice. It encourages participants to strengthen ethical courage, deepen cultural humility, and develop the ability to serve as both compassionate clinicians and advocates for systemic change. The training aims to transform not only how professionals serve their most vulnerable clients but also how they challenge and improve the systems that have historically caused harm.
